A Poem In August

I could draft a poem in August
For Mother's & Daughter's, in kind
For New Father & Son
Blue Collar or None
and place it whence love did hide

But would it be enough?
To woo the Sun and the Shadow
The kids earn pennies, that one day, turn to many
Taking in all sweet Summer had known

I could revise a poem in August
Or melt along countries of Amber and Gold
A place for my inner child to laugh, to exist
One more memory to have, to hold

Home upon my very breath
The riddle, all will never solve
Still, I'd share my secret in vain
and bury her uncertainties, in a world that kept her small

I will write you a poem in August
Unto which path or star should I go?
Whatever the destination, hear
My word is warm, kind, true - I know
