I have sought hungrily with heart and mind,
For beauty divine that eyes never touched,
Like a blind man devoid of dupes of illusion,
Whose sweet visions meet his heart’s expectancy,
I have starved for beauty – absolute and supreme,
This tellurian world soils a hundred hues,
To spirits that look serenely, closely,
Abreast, afar, I have sought the sun kissed dawns,
Sparred with the foolish moon marred with passion,
Dashed down the river, torn by its spelled excitement,
Embraced the rose, drunken on its own nectar,
Plighted the blossoms, robbed of their life’s brief span,
Breezed the wind, wild and free, sounding loudly against the sky,
Yearned for the morn, with her wonder for color and form,
Duelled with the seasons, rude and delicate, refined in their art,
And stroke the sunset, who knew of her cadential beauty,
Dispelled by beauteous visions of truth,
My eyes then beheld unbridled love
Of a mother mingled with dulcet joy and pride,
For her child, Cupid’s delightful gift for her passionate love,
My heart’s soil halted, drowned in its own spring.
