Oh the dreams of a broken child
Oh the call of the babe
Is there no one to listen to you?
Is there no one to care?

Oh my dear sad girl
please tell me your tale
Do not let their words harm you
Just stay here safe in my arms

Oh the cries of battle
How many young lives have you claimed?
Please let them return to the mothers,
for they are still, just boys.

Oh the hard stories of press
Why must you bother us so?
Why must these wonderful people
suffer from your fatal blows.

Oh this world is so broken!
Why, why must we cry?
Where, where is the savior?
Is there anyone left to hear?
