I was wrong,
I thought she would listen to me,
I was wrong,
I thought my point of view she would see,
I was wrong,
I knew she was someone I could trust,
I was wrong,
I knew it was only me that she lusts,
I was wrong,
I knew to my heart she had the key,
I was wrong,
I knew she was in love with me,
was I wrong?

the messge she sent reads,
talk to me alone,
my mind can't help but wonder,
as I pick up the phone,
her tone is so different,
as she gives me the news,
my heart cant help but sink,
I am so confused,
she was my best friend,
but more important was her lust,
I feel so betrayed,
now who can I trust?

Whether she is here or not,
Love kept me going,
It was all that I sought,
It was warm and tender,
There was no greater feeling,
In any situation,
Her love was so healing,

Never again can I drive down that road,
I still see you singing in my passenger seat,
I can't walk through that park,
I still see us wading in our bare feet,
Never again can I eat dinner at our place down town,
I still see you next to me at the table near the wall,
I can't lie awake in my room at night,
I still hear your voice on my phone when you call,
Never again can I sit in the shade at our park,
I still feel your body pressed so close to mine,
I can't dial your number anymore,
I know everything will not be fine,
Never again can I trust,
I still feel you tearing my trust apart,
Never again can I love,
I still feel yours deep in my heart.
